POSITION MISSION
- To prepare all costing and pricing aspects of a tender within the tender team (from Business Opportunity identification to Award)
- To find with Engineering and Technical functions optimization initiatives to mitigate the gaps with target cost
- To support the Project team on costing aspects until the first critical milestones of the project
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
- Prepare quick costing during pre-tendering phase, based on product cost database and return of experience from project execution
- Define the cost structure for the bid according to RFP (terms and conditions, etc), sales requirements, etc
- Lead and consolidate cost estimation activities with all functions such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance etc
- Lead cost improvement actions with Technical Functions such as Engienering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing etc to reach tender cost /target price using all competitiveness levers, and challenge the contributors
- Lead a collaborative work with Finance to optimize Financial costs (bonds, financing, hedging, insurance, taxes, etc), and to improve overall competitiveness of the bid
- Control the level of robustness of the costing (consistency between scope of work, costing received and planning)
- Prepare the Costing package and lead together with the Sales team the bid review process
- Develop cost models and scenario analysis to be presented in bid reviews to top management
- Recommend GO-No GO strategies based on factual data based on cost-benefit analysis
- Prepare the pricing sheet for the customer
- Lead cost estimation activities, in coordination with Sales team, for changes discussed with the customer during negotiation phase and update the cost commitment
- Support on demand the Project team on costing for variation orders
- Coordinate the pricing strategy of key tenders based on information on competition and market dynamics
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Engineering or business degree
- Minimum 3 years' experience in cost management on projects or bids
- Experience in railway, an asset
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, mandatory
- Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Be results-oriented and show ability to delivery milestones on-time
- Fluent in English mandatory
