Wayside Sales Specialist, reporting directly to the Wayside Sales Director, He/She has the role to develop and execute campaigns for generating and driving new business, as well as will be responsible for managing existing commercial relationships and liaising with new potential customers, also supporting the International sales and Management towards the strategic development of the business. Through the proactive proposition of technological solutions tailored to the needs of active commercial contacts, Sales Account has the main aim of maximizing revenues and margins for the company, increasing the loyalty of the customer portfolio.


This position interacts with various company functions, providing operational and concrete contributions aimed at the correct processing of commercial requests (Sales), the issuing of related offers (Tendering + Purchasing), the verification of milestones and income collections (PMO + Finance). And the related promotional activities such as events or fairs (Marketing).




Responsible for selling products of the Wayside Diagnostic Systems and to support project delivery and operations & management.

The role focuses on the Rail Sector dealing mainly with Infrastructure Managers, Operators, Railcar Builders and requires to:

•        Create effective business plans to expand the use of MERMEC technology and solutions within the Territory.

•        Prospect for new business opportunities and driving sales in assigned Territory.

•        Develop relationships at various levels including C-Level, VP's and Directors within the Territory through the use of direct sales techniques and conducting on-site meetings.

•        Develop a sales pipeline and forecast by effectively following the sales process and managing all opportunities in CRM.

•        Keeping the company CRM updated, monitoring its critical issues and compliance with the timing of the various necessary actions.

•        Supporting the Tendering Office in the creation of the technical and economic offer documents, together with the representatives of the various Line of Business and the Sales Management, and any revisions up to the signature of the order.

•        Analysing, together with the necessary technical representatives, the documents relating to Requests for Offers and / or Quotations, in the context of participation in international tenders.

•        Promote our value proposition to Railway Infrastructure Managers, Railway Asset Manager, Rolling Stock Manager by providing technical solutions to help the customers meet or exceed business objectives.

•        High-level use and comfort utilizing social media and prospecting intelligence resources.

•        Negotiate sales and/or service agreements.

•        Maintain a high knowledge level of the company's solutions and services.

•        Periodic preparation of commercial reports and keeping the Wayside Sales Director continuously updated




-        Bachelor's degree in technical or business or related field

-        Successful previous experience as sales manager for at least 3 years

-        Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies

-        Experience in customer relationship management

-        Committed to continuous training through dedicated session, workshops, seminars

-        Proven ability to drive the sales process from the starting to close

-        Strong business sense and industry expertise

-        Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian language

-        Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language

-        Ability to accurately forecast future sales volumes, to make sales planning, to manage processed and to meet sales goals

-        Market Knowledge

-        Availability for short-term travel
